A visit from Harold, Karen, Jason & Kenny.

A Special Mother's Day Visit

I was delighted to have a visit with my daughter Karen, and her husband Harold. They were in town for our grandson Kevin's Graduation from Dixie State College. I was suprised and very happy to see that they brought with them our two dear grandson's Kenny & Jason, whom we haven't seen for quite a while.

During this time we took the opportunity to have an early birthday visit with Harold, as we are unable to go to the "Fiesta Birthday party" Karen had planned for him next week, in Draper. I also received a call from our son Ken, which meant a lot to me. We look forward to a visit from our daughter Cami, and family next week, and appreciate her thoughtfulness and sweet card signed by her and the children.

DIXIE STATE COLLEGE GRADUATION

Dixie State College held its Centennial Graduation Ceremony today, and it was important for several reasons: President Thomas S. Monson was the Commencement Speaker, and among the largest graduating class they have ever had, was our grandson Kevin Wilks!! We are very proud of him. Kevin had played football for them in the past, and we loved to watch his games. He is a fine young man.

An interesting weekend

I'm still an in-training ward librarian. We are the agent ward, so I also do the ordering, for our three wards. On Saturday, I received more training.

Sunday brought some surprise changes to our ward. We now have a whole new Bishopric. The second councilor is now Kip Kint. He had spoken in our adult session of Stake Conference. We are so impressed by him, and now we see that the Stake Presidency was also. Our new Bishop is Phil Deitz who was a 2nd councilor in our ward until the change. The first counselor is Lavell Christiansen. He was in the Bishopric when our daughter Cindy lived here, and was Relief Society President.

Our former Bishop Nelson is our neighbor and also our home teacher. They moved here from California about five 1/2 years ago. He was a terrific Bishop, and quite young. The former 2nd councilor was Brock Belnap, the Washington County Attorney, and Larry's home teaching companion. All wonderful people!

Our Grandson Beau

Beau will be graduating from Pineview High School this summer,
and then will go on to BYU. He is quite accomplished. Beau is a
STERLING SCHOLAR, and voted MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED at his school.
During the year he attended Boys State.

Beau is the Captain of his Soccer Team. I'm looking forward to
seeing more of his games. He is also a very, thoughtful & considerate
Grandson.

All of the Jones children are so talented. Ian plays football, Cole, dances, sings and acts. Cole took the lead in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL. Savanna is excellent at playing the harp, as well as singing, dancing. We are so proud of them!

A WONDERFUL WEEK!

The best part of last week was being with family. I loved the 1776 performance, and had reserved tickets, but it meant I had to miss our grandson Beau's soccer game, which I had wanted very much to see. We loved our visit with Karen & Harold. It was so special for Larry and I to celebrate Michelle's birthday with them. I sincerely appreciated Karen's patience in developing this blog. Please go onto Karen & Michelle's blog's to see what we missed!
